Madonna ruled this year’s Met Gala, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”
She arrived on the red carpet in a goth Gaultier gown with a veil, crown, crosses, and black roses.

Descending the staircase in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Great Hall in a monk’s cloak, Madonna performed “Like a Prayer” and “Hallelujah.”
She also teased some new music, singing “It’s a beautiful plan, but I’m not concerned. It’s a beautiful game, that I never learned. You have taught me to shut my mouth, so I don’t get burned. Keep your beautiful lies, ’cause I’m not concerned.”
